Merry Christmas Michael!
Thanks all for interest and comments -in the background of the 2nd photo at work is the computer made in 1977 which we used to send the new claims to the central office at Newcastle on their computer . The information was sent by a punch card whereby you punched a series of holes in the card which had letters and numbers to give information on the claimant address date of birth, etc
In 1984 we had the computer with the vdu display and keyboard -the information was sent by the phone lines by both units.
Thanks valentin097 for wishes of a good Xmas - the house was demolished in the mid 1990s as was the rest of the estate as they were found to be not secure due to the walls on most of the houses cracking due to the concrete not being mixed properly they were not brick built due to a shortage of bricks after the Second World War . A new estate has been built. Her age was 84 then, my aunt that is in the photo.
