Here's what I think may be a Ruckl Dec 708 vase based on the now infamous Ruckl catalogue page on p. 75 Truit II. Bought for a bargain on an auction site here in the UK - sold as Murano!
Stand 26cm (10") tall.
looks to be a fine made piece Phil & season greatings
Thanks Malkey.... good cheer and seasons greetings to you too!
Nice Phil.
Poor old Murano, every Ebay ignorants' catch all.
Ignorant, or uneducated? There is a difference. Some of us do try, but we just can't make heads or tales of a lot of things.
Good point Bear. In many cases they are too lazy to look further I think, or else use Murano as a click bait. I forgive if they preface their description with "I am not sure, this may be Murano..." or similar.
All the better for the educated though. If all knew what they were selling, there would be no bargains. And sometimes it works the other way; when some, with a little knowledge, hyper-inflate their prices beyond true worth.
I love the contrasting brown against the beige Phil!
The upper rim is fire polished - not cut.
going nutz! The top looks kralik the bottom looks Ruckl. I would say it passed through france at some point because it is common to find Loetz and Czech vases with this flat grinding and pontil
Hi Jericho - Actually its not flat ground - although it looks as though it is - it has a polished rim
