    pebble
    (31 items)

I've seen a few similar items on here recently which inspired me to take a closer look at this little bowl.
When my Mum was clearing out my Grandma's house, this was in the pile destined for a charity shop unless any of us wanted them. I've always loved this sparkly little bowl and was fascinated by the patterns in the glass. I remember it always being there so I suppose it's from the early 60s or before.
It's black on the outside, and the sparkly silver and coloured glass are underneath a layer of transparent glass.
The sticker says "Genuine Venetian Glass, made in Murano, Italy".
It sits on a chest of drawers beside my front door and sparks joy and fond memories :)

Hi Pebble - hold it up to a bright light... may be purple, not black... Cheers, - Bob

Thanks everyone your your comments and clicking "love".
Bob - I tried that last night but the outer layer appears to be completely opaque. I'll try again if I can find a stronger light! Also see the one I found in the link below, it says the outer layer is red.
Deano - I found this link to an identical one, it mentions Dino Martin too:

Interestingly, this site and another I found has this style attributed to AVeM, and says that it is often wrongly attributed to Dino Martins. This originates from an error in a book that has since found it's way into other books. Fascinating to see how this can happen!

Lovely Bowl Pebble! As you know the decor is called Tutti Frutti. These are frequently, and incorrectly, attributed to Dino Martens. This is similar to what you find on eBay where everything is called Murano - when in fact they're not. There is a possibility that it is AVEM as you know. The label is generic, and the piece dates from mid-century to early sixties.

Thanks for the input Rick, that backs up what I've been finding when I've been looking into this.
Thanks also everyone else who's stopped by :)

I love learning something new, I am so used to the murano style lamps which uses those coils and seeing this really shows their mastery of glass !~
