    I don't have much info on this chair. It was in my husbands family forever and no one can recall it's origins. I also don't even know what wood was used or the material used on the face of the chair design. It ALMOST appears to be like plaster. I would be happy to have any info at all.

      ok, so I learned that back in the 1980's, grandma apparently told the kids it was over a 100 years old at that time. Additionally, I think the "face" on the chair is the North Wind.

      Yes often called north wind chair. Have not seen one where the face is so worn and almost falling apart. The face looks to almost be gesso over wood or composition.
