Found these in a box of my late husband's house renovation bits and pieces, but could have been old family items, which puzzle me! Before the days of metal casting I assume, as beautifully spliced. Any idea of provenance? 3" width on outer edges, one slightly larger. Could have been used with horses perhaps? Lovely mementoes of a bygone age.
They almost look like ginormous earrings, lol! Also look more like red copper than brass. No clue what they are for.
Thanks for your comments! Bit small for a bracelet for me and a child wouldn't be able to lift her arm, but good thought! Yes red copper would make sense, not quite brass, more rose gold. Horse tack is where I see them, but guess must be pretty early if before casting came into production. Look forward to more comments!
First glance, Bull Rings.
Good luck!
Thanks for that guys, that makes sense - casts a new light on them! Are modern ones made with this splicing?
