    Found these in a box of my late husband's house renovation bits and pieces, but could have been old family items, which puzzle me! Before the days of metal casting I assume, as beautifully spliced. Any idea of provenance? 3" width on outer edges, one slightly larger. Could have been used with horses perhaps? Lovely mementoes of a bygone age.

      They almost look like ginormous earrings, lol! Also look more like red copper than brass. No clue what they are for.

      Thanks for your comments! Bit small for a bracelet for me and a child wouldn't be able to lift her arm, but good thought! Yes red copper would make sense, not quite brass, more rose gold. Horse tack is where I see them, but guess must be pretty early if before casting came into production. Look forward to more comments!
