My husband is so proud and in love with this thing and wanted me to post it so I could be proven wrong on how RAD it is. He picked it up at an estate sale and the people at the sale had drug it out as a joke. And when he got soooooo excited over this I thought it was a joke! But I've got my things that I know he finds stupid or useless (silly cat collection). We are unsure what its made of. He suggested chalkware in the attempt to get me on board, but we ruled that out. Maybe some kind of plaster. Or one of those ceramic store blanks and then you take it home and paint it? Anyone out there wanna guess? Thanks.

I wouldve bought it too :P

I would guess some kinda of plaster that was painted with a type of lacquer paint, similar to my Stan Laurel lamp.

Could be a marketing item from the first King Kong movie, 1931. Nice kitsch piece.
