I bought this cool opera poster. Does anyone know anything about this? It's a poster from 1884. I can't find out any information on the opera.

That is really nice! Just have a feeling it is from London.

The writing is probably Italian, but many Operas from other locations as well as Italian were touring then and many sure to appear in London at the huge, wonderful Opera House--IF they could get their music placed there!!

"Ricordi is an Italian publisher of musical editions founded in 1808 and still exists."

Cool find! Luigi Denza was an Italian composer. He wrote a song called "Smanie". Smanie means ravings, as in hysteria or anxiety. Makes sense with the frantic style of writing. Could it be the front page of the sheet music?

Looks very dark and depressing. LOL.
