It seems 'serendipity is in action, following on to my 'lucky find' of a "Pike Manufacturing Company" hand powered grinding wheel about 6 months ago I stumbled on another "Pike" product. It's almost as if the "pike" is seeking me out. A boxed "Black Beauty Razor Hone', box is in excellent condition for it's age, alas the stone has been dropped at some stage and has a broken corner. The label is clear and legible and has the sumly price of 7/6 (7 shillings and sixpence), considering Australia converted to decimal currency and adopted dollars and cents in 1966, this stone was definitely purchased more than 50 years ago. The "Pike Manufacturing Co, Pike NH, USA ceased to exist in 1932 (it was acquired by "Norton" and became Norton Pike) it could be a great deal older. I will now have to do a bit of research on the 3 straight razors that I got with it. Could be a good find.
That was a lot of money too Gary!!
