Hello again fellow collectors!!
While out treasure hunting with my wife yesterday, we came across this copper and brass heralding horn. It's made by Peerage and was more than likely made sometime between the mid 1940's to 1950's. We really liked it and felt it was worth the $20 that we paid the seller for it.
It's rather long and measures 48 1/2". Though a bit dented, I didn't mind as fits right in with my other vintage fox hunting and heralding horns. It does have a removable mouthpiece and the horn breaks down into two pieces as well.
Peerage were the successors to Pearson-Page of England. They manufactured new and reproduction brass and copper items from 1945 until about 1990. Though they manufactured reproduction as well as new items, the Peerage name only appeared on new design items. As you can see, the Peerage name is stamped into the mouthpiece of this horn.

Lol!! Actually, with the approach of midnight, you'll find me all snug in my bed:) I haven't rang in the new year at midnight for many years now.
We have a tradition with grandkids..... at midnight we fix Blackeyed peas and everyone takes a bite for luck and wish each other porosity and surrounded by loved ones for the future....... been doing for approx. 14 years now
