I have long wanted one of these. Moulded into the clear base is a fairy and the words S. Clarke Fairy Pyramid. The shade seems to me to be a honeycomb décor in satin and matt glass with tiny sparkles in it.
I believe, from posts here by IMASapp, that the company S. Clarke commissioned the shades from quite a variety of glass companies.
This was bought as a pair but the other one is paler, the honeycomb pattern has gone awry in production and it has damage, so really I have only one!
Height 9cm./3.5 inches
HAPPY NEW YEAR SKLO !!! ! !!!
Thank you, vetraio! May you enjoy health and happiness in the NEW YEAR !!!
These are so pretty - love the deep pink colour. I have quite a few fairy lamp spare parts (domes, bases) which I hope to match up with the missing bits someday - all part of the fun of collecting!
So sweet Peggy.
I hope they light your way to a great new year!
They're so cute...like a moving memory from the past...
All the best in the nearest and further future :)
Congratulations! Be forewarned, fairy lamps can be addictive. One more and you will have a "collection".
IronLace, I've always loved fairy lamps but never expected to own one. I do have a shade needing a pedestal...... Happy New Year!
And pink too, Karen. I'm going to follow advice given here and not put candles in them lest they crack! Happy New Year!
Hello. Ivonne It is surprising that they have lasted so long after electricity made them outdated. Wishing you and yours health and happiness in the coming year.
Thank you, IMASapp. I don't know whether I should tell you this, but already I have my eye on another one. They are small though!
Sklo52 please don't hesitate to let help you before you make a significant investment in a Victorian-era fairy lamp. I am more than willing to help you make good choices.
Thank you IMASapp, I really appreciate your generosity of spirit. However, in the main, Fairy Lamps, much as I like them, are outside my real collecting area. Thus I'm only likely to buy ones that turn up at silly prices.
That said, if I saw one made by Welz, I might be tempted to make an exception! I did notice that you have one in a Welz 'Honeycomb' décor.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Peggy.
Ooh I love these fairy lamps. I've yet to find one I can afford, lol, but one day :)
Happy New Year to you too, Fran. Affordable ones do turn up.....occasionally!
Thank yous to those who loved this little lamp :)
