    I think this is a tool intended for making cup shaped Pastries, what do you think?

    I got this tool from my mother, who got this from my father's mother. I have never seen it used, so in truth all I know is conjecture.

      That looks like a double strainer, but for what....
      I think pastry would get stuck in the wiring when it was pressed. I looked online for another one, but found zero.

      This is a "bird's-nest fryer." Cooked noodles or shredded potatoes are pressed between the two baskets and then deep-fried to make a edible "nest" which can be filled with various foodstuffs.
