Vintage 1920s wood and metal pull toy, Tinker Dogs by The Toy Tinkers of Evanston, Illinois. It features 3 weiner dogs that move up and down as the toy is pulled. It measures 8" long x 5 1/2" wide.
The Strong National Museum of Play has the following information on line:
In Tinker Toys (the company) early years, it made several toys in addition to Tinkertoys (the name of the construction set). The firm offered several dolls, figures, and sets made of colorfully painted wooden parts. Simple movements captured a child’s attention, and the stylized design of the toys required a child to use her imagination. Tinker Dogs was one of the many pull toys the company offered.
Found in my favorite shop and could not resist bringing these cute little doggies home.
Awww. Adorable!

Oh boy! I certainly would have bought them, too. What a find.
I had Tinker Toys when I was a kid in the 1960s. Those and Lincoln Logs were my favorite toys.
