I picked up this knife yesterday for a super cheap price. My antique collection is all pocket knives and this one is my first fixed blade. I been doing research on this knife and it not that easy. And help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Adam
Not made for export since it doesn't have "Made in Germany" stamped on it.
So fake? Not sure if i follow
Countries are required to put the name of origin on export items. For the home market & during wars, this is not done. Clear ?
Nope I can't.
Follow you either
Maybe somebody else can make it clearer.
Well i understand its missing the stamp. What were not understanding is what that means. Clear?
I think he's saying, it is a German-made knife that was not made for the international market, but was made only for their own German market?
Why was Germany even part of conversation? The poster never said anything about Germany to begin with. So I was befuddled at square one. But. I am not a knife collector, I just thought it was a cool knife.
And SB grabs the brass ring.
I agree with post card. I never said anything about Germany. That said my main question was if anyone knew info on the knife. Truthfully i paid $25 canadian and just looking to see if it was made in BOB'S shed? From what i got so far is someone basically saying some old lady put this in her purse and took it to Canada that's why it doesn't have it's International stamp. Id like to thank everyone for your help thank you
Adam
Address of maker is in Germany. The old lady & the purse is a good scenario & probably close.
"Why was Germany even part of conversation?"
"I never said anything about Germany."
SOLINGEN is a German city known for blades (swords, knife...).
