I KNOW THIS ISN'T HIGH END & IT'S ALSO IN LESS THEN PRISTINE SHAPE, BUT I LIKE IT NONE THE LESS. I'VE HAD IT FOR YEARS, PURCHASED FROM AN ELDERLY LADY'S YARD SALE. I'M NOT SURE OF THE AGE, FROM WHAT I'VE GOOGLED, MAYBE MID 1800'S?

lovely piece.It may have had a little dish underneath for kerosine or a candle to heat up the water.It would sit on that round circle of base.
