I have had my eyes on this lovely footed bowl (is it a compot?) for a while. It was on our local market stall and I really wanted it, but it was rather expensive, so I passed. However, I couldn't resist it so managed to haggle the price down, so I am now the proud owner. It is a George Davidson lemon yellow Pearline Glass Footed Bowl which glows beautifully under UV light. It's 15cms across and 12cms tall.
Nice!!!! Uranium glass is SO cool when lit up under UV light!!
Smashing Adele a sucre [sugar] bowl might be william & mary pattern ?
i've the same with matching cream/ milk jug
He did have a milk jug on his stall too, but will give it a miss for a week or two, then if it's still there I may get it! I think it is William and Mary Pattern, just forgot to mention it.
The pearline is so attractive from many angles & the yellow being uranium glass a bonus indeed , hope you get the jug Adele i'll have to get some piccys of pearline on CW
Hi there Glassgaga, there is an area that may be writing on the base, but I found it impossible to read, and may have just been an area of roughness! I think the glass museum was referring to the blue glass as always being marked.
Hi hope this helps the design number for this pattern is 413701 14th July 1903 yr
Thanks Malkey.
Good information, Ellen, thanks for sharing. :)
I have edited this to put 2 different photos, showing some sort of marks underneath. The second could be bubbles though. If anyone has a similar piece, maybe they could look and see where the rd mark should be? Calling Malkey, you have the same bowl, could you have a look at the bottom and compare!
this link previously provided does show the sr# in multiple pieces on Davidson glass. As you can see the quality varies greatly and can be very difficult to photograph. Hopefully Malkey can also post his example of the same form.
