I purchased at an auction. I do not see any identifying marks or symbols.
The top looks as though someone might have painted the trim (which I will never understand). It is a beautiful piece and trying to find out who made the dresser, year, or value. Maple wood maybe? Any input is appreciated.

Hi, just wondering if you ever found out anything about this cabinet. I have picked up an almost identical one at the Restore in our area (Ontario, Canada). Would love to know the age of it and where it was made.

No. I have not found out any information on the dresser.
Do you have a picture of yours you could send to me debsis4?

      Welcome to CW.

I'm not sure if this is a dresser, only because of the cupboard look to the top. Maybe a small linen cupboard, or a kitchen cupboard? You haven't given us the measurements. It has original pulls, and the outline of ovals on the doors, which may have been a decoration that has since been removed.

This is a gorgeous arts and crafts piece, which they've called a linen press.

Can you tell I'm not a furniture expert? Anyway, the possibilities of what your pieces was used for are many. It could indeed have been a men's dresser. Is there evidence of shelves inside?

Unfortunately, CW does not offer appraisals. But for comparables eBay is recommended, or Etsy. I did a google image search fpr a "dresser with top cupboard".

All the best to you and bebsis4, in finding out more about your furniture.

p.s. make sure there are no labels or writing on bottom or sides of shelves, and on the back of the piece.

Thank you so very much! I will have to get the measurements (I have them somewhere). I have looked for marking or labels or anything and cannot locate.
Yes, it does appear to have been some sort of decorative design on the front - I found a nail where someone attached it to the front doors. I will continue my search and I greatly appreciate your comments! Thank you. Anita

Hi anitalouise72, I posted on the site. Although this dresser doesn't have the little piece on the top of it like yours does, there are holes where there was some kind of attachment.

These type of pulls are often replicated and this is made to look as if it came out of the regency period, but it is 20th century, likely from England also. I love it too. That is all we probably can find out as most manufacturers took their drawings to the grave. I have seen countless regency items with identical pulls. I have some also.
