You can see similarities between all the millefiori canes used in Kralik - these with pink, white and black are quite characteristic.
It is quite good to see them without the iridescence of an Iris piece and on a clear ground - in all their splendour.
I am an unashamed basket case: they gather dust and are good for little. Pointless really, but I love them.
This has a ground pontil and is 17.5cm high x 11.5cm in diameter.

Uses for baskets welcomed! I think they suit silk roses.

These baskets did have uses. In the picture in the link http://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/forbes-the-health-of-the-bride-n01544 just to the left of the little' boy's head is this basket http://lustrousstone.co.uk/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=930 filled with flowers. I've seen this large painting in the "flesh" and was stunned to see a basket just like mine
