This is an older piece of trifari jewelry. I am not sure what this would be used for. On the back it has two open pins that come down. Is this something that would be fastened onto a hat or coat?

This is a brooch for use on fur. Take good care of this piece!

Another Trifari fur brooch, different design:

Well - they can ask all the WANT for the Fur clip on ebay - but what they sell it for can be a whole 'nother thing!

      This one is very pretty!

YIKES! If you can attribute to Alfred! What a STUNNER. The colored pieces - wow!

(There are others that are sold at a BARGAIN, I cannot belive people still start auctions at 9.99 or .99 cents!)

      CHECK this one out!

How would you attribute this to Alfred? The flower on this brooch is articulated and sways with movement.

That would be a Trembler! I was wondering with that round piece on the back. I don't know if anyone is Trifari expert per se here. But that mark is of the period when he was doing a lot of the design. Fur clips were primarily 1930's - 50's.

Here's a somewhat similar white rhinestone trembler flower Fur clip attributed to Alfred Philippe circa 1939:

And another. I'm gonna go out on a limb - and say that it is a Philippe piece.

"The success of Trifari, and the reason for its collectibility today, is most often credited to French designer Alfred Philippe, the company’s chief designer from 1930 until 1968. "

Wow-that is interesting. Thanks for all your knowledge! That last link does resemble this a bit. I've learned some new things today :)

I would be surprised if your fur clip was not by Alfred Phillippe. Here is another one which has a somewhat different design, but the construction of the main flower is pretty much the same:

      Ms. Crystalship-thanks for the comment!

Always do the magnetic test... use any magnet and if it sticks to it then it's a filigree or some kind of metal.. if it don't stick then its real gold silver... and for future reference brass don't stick either. . Good to keep it in pocket when going to thrift stores ect.. very nice tho! Art deco jewelry is coming back big!

Definitely Alfred Phiippe. This design is the patent is 115,128, dated June 6, 1939. He is listed on the patent. the round circle on the back was the way they anchored the spring of the trembler. The construction method is also 1930s. Gorgeous piece. My best to Bonnie.
