This is an old pair of screwback earrings that my grandmother gave me. Each has a small diamond that is set into the middle and they are marked 14k. Does anyone have a age range for these earrings-maybe 20's-30's??
Beautiful! They look "Art Deco-y" to me.
Thanks for all the love and comment!
We need to see the backs. Very pretty!
This style dates from around 1910.
Thanks so much!
Here's a page from a 1927 catalogue from the morning glory antiques site featuring rings in a similar design: http://www.morninggloryantiques.com/imagesJC/Catalogues/bw27d.jpg
And this is a page from 1917-1919 catalog (same website) featuring rings in a similar design: http://www.morninggloryantiques.com/imagesJC/Articles/JRWood/JRW66.jpg
and a ring they date c1910: http://www.morninggloryantiques.com/imagesLZ/RingsK/ring16734b.jpg
This is just to illustrate that a style can have a long life span.
Thanks for the links, Davyd286. They are very similar-I wish I had a matching ring too :)
I'm sure you can find a matching ring easily - many old jewelry dies are now being used to manufacture exact reproductions. The maker discloses that they are remakes but as they find their way to the secondary market, many will probably be sold as genuine antiques.
