Maybe you can help us?
We received from my wife's uncle a couple boxes of porcelain years ago.
So far I counted 66 pieces..
Plates 10", 9", 7.5", 6", 5.5" (12 each)
1x soupières, 1x soucier, 1x "sugar", 1 "creme dish", 2 plates oval, long 10" and 15", 3 x coffee cups.
A few plates are still factory wrapped in white paper! Some items had been wrapped in new papers dated 2010.
All plates have a ANC.FABRIQUE ROYALE, Limoges France, additional text "INCRUSTATION VÉRITABLE DOUBLE DORURE, POLI A L'AGATE"
How old are these dishes? My guess is they may have been purchased 1980-90? I remember them traveling to France around that time. Do these plates have a particular name? Style?
Any good advise how to find more information about these items?

The pieces are not that old, you're correct dating from the 1980-2000 period when Bernadaud took over the company. The name is related to the original 18th century Limoges company, which was taken over by Serves in the 1790’s and closed a few years later. The company using their name was reestablished in 1931.
Appear to be of very good quality being “double gold encrusted with ground agate decoration”, ( my poor French translation!)

Thank you for your informative comments. I agree is was most likely large volume produced, overpriced porcelain form the late 1980's. Maybe the new president will influence "China" with gold rims... ;-)
