IronLace
(929 items)
Victorian art glass vase, made from 3 layers of cased glass, the inner layer is white but contains uranium & glows under UV. There is an applied trail of flowers & leaves, & the crimped rim has an unusual 4 cornered shape. Not sure if it is English or Bohemian, as apparently very similar items were made in both places. This was a flea market find.
Another beauty, IronLace, and Bohemian. Again my reference is Truitt volume I, this time page 61, Harrach. Found at a flea market.....the mind boggles but well done!
Many thanks sklo42! I will have to check my Truitt book as well. I'm lucky to have a very good local flea market which I've been having consistent finds at for 20 years. Amazing what has turned up there over that time, everything from Peloton to fairy lamps. And if I don't have any luck there, then just over the road is a great op shop (thrift store). Everyone kicks on from the markets to there, & even if I don't find any glass there's usually a good book or cool clothes to buy. Pretty much the only thing I don't buy second hand is food! :-)
Now that would be a no-no! :))
BEAUTIFUL Collection of applied glass!
We have similar tastes-- I cannot pass up anything with applied flowers, fruit, etc...
Please continue to share.

Thanks Scott, & I'll definitely be adding more glass with applied decoration as I have many examples with various flowers, leaves, fruit, etc.
We both seem to like our glass as fancy as possible, that's for sure!
A beauty! I also agree that it is Bohemian. I love the combination of the organically shaped top and the flowers - really well done. :)
