I bought this vase thinking it was going to be another in the same group as the two in my last post. I got a shock when it came out of the box. It is altogether wider and a true vase. Additionally this is the only example of this shape I've seen. (This is where someone produces another example!!!)
It is ribbed all over.....the ribs widening and narrowing with the changing shape of the vase. The interior is white. The six leaf feet are the largest I've seen. The vase is moulded, then a ring of clear glass is placed on the circumference of the base. The leaf feet are then pulled from this clear glass. Just like the feet of the previous vase, though this is not always the case with Welz feet.
The jug in image four is diagonally ribbed and has a 'celery' handle. Celery handles were once quite popular!
Height 21 cm./8.25 inches
Base Diameter 11 cm./4.25 inches
GREAT shape and BEAUTIFUL decor-- love the grouping of spectacular WELZ!

Thank you so much scott!
The colours are sumptuous Peggy & love the detail in the feet
I certainly have never see the shape before, so I won't out you!! :-) Love the piece. I agree with Scott, a really nice grouping.
Thank you so much, MALKEY.
Glad you're not going to 'out' me Craig. This may be the only time you can't produce one or more alternative examples! :)
These are so beautiful. I live 10 minutes away from 2 huge antique malls and have only seen 2 items marked Weltz or Kralic and they were looking rough. The one mall alone is I think 110k sf. and I always get lost and overwhelmed. You who have ability to find them is awesome. They are lovely.
Picture 4 should be in a book Peggy!
Clever you finding a new shape - be proud, very proud.
Thank you OGF. My problem with local vintage and antique outlets is that the glass is only a small percentage of the offering, rarely what I collect and the stock doesn't change that often!
Once again Karen, you've made me smile. Thank you :)
These are all beautiful Peggy! Even though they're all in the same decor, each one has its own unique shape and personality! I also love the last pic with the backlighting... great shot!
As to the photos, it was such a dull day that I tried bouncing light off the ceiling. I may try it again:)
I constantly admire your collection - how it is growing and how good photos you take !
Thank you for such a lovely comment, Ivonne.
The loves do not go unnoticed and are much appreciated, as ever.
