Antique sampler dated 1836, Annabell Hilary. 17x13. Looks Like embroidery. Part of an extensive antique quilt collection I acquired. Does anyone know how to tell origin on this piece? Thank you.

These were common to make in USA I am not sure what you mean by origin but it is a fantastic piece of history . It should be back with acid free backing and also acid free matting so it is not touching glass and kept out of sunlight to preserve it .
