I love this locket. It still has the original chain with it and the frame inserts are perfect. There's just not a lot of info out there about the company that made it, so if there are any Stetson Chain Co experts out there I'd love to hear from you!

I have something very similar and love it. I can't read what it says though. And I love those old clasps!

I had to use a loupe to even see there was writing on mine. It blends right in with the background. For the longest time I thought it was just an old, cheap, metal locket marketed for children since my mom gave it to me when I was fairly young. Glad I just kept it safe and sound in my jewelry box and never messed with it!

Found this in article about a lawsuit against a co. using the name Hamilton fraudulently, seems to be the same situation with Stetson chain co.

As a further point, it is alleged that the defendants incorporated under the name Stetson Chain Company, in 1937, with similar fraudulent intentions regarding the trademark "Stetson" established by the Stetson Hat Company. The U. S. Patent Office has also cancelled the defendants' registration of that trade-mark.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing, Zedek! I wonder if that makes my locket more or less valuable. Hmmm...
