An accomplished piece of glass from Francois Eugene Rousseau & Ernest Baptiste Leveille most likely executed by the glassworks of Appert Freres France .Deep wheel cut valleys dragoons with crackle interior cased in crystal then rolled with coloured oxide inclusions cased once more for final polish
rim also carved a very heavy vase indeed
polished pontil & base
height 6 3/4 inches width 7 inches
1880s date
From a large country house Rothbury Northumberland British Isles
then into a general auction sale

Simply Beautiful Malkey, I love it! This is the first one I've seen with the carving on the outside, and it definitely gives it a presence. Like I said earlier, I'm dying to own one of his crackle vases - if one ever comes up because they seldom do. Thanks :-)
