    can anybody please advise on 2 sets of markings i have come across on 2 smoothing planes 1.it marked osborne co southampton and has a thick brass bottom plate 2..a 17" a.mathieson & son glasgow best warranted mark with usual moon crest and star then underneath it looks like 1946 is this the year? any help would be appreciated
