A sweet three-dimensional pin by Ciro: genuine pearl eggs, plastic bird, and glass and semi-precious stone leaves. I imagine the bird would look uncomfortable and the whole composition a bit awkward if worn on a lapel because of how far it comes out, so I wonder if this pin was meant to sit on the shoulder or on a hat. Ciro is a retailer in Britain (established in 1917 and still in business) who placed jewelry orders with Marcel Boucher among other companies. Note how closely their signature resembles that of Coro.

What a gorgeous and interesting brooch. The mix of media is a bit puzzling - why use plastic, and then real pearls and stones? Know what I mean? I would have thought a little enamel bird would have been the choice.

Ciro was known for its cultured pearl jewelry, so that could explain the use of genuine pearls, sort of a trademark.
