      This is Lakota Sioux, not Navaho. SPRC,SD stands for Sioux Pottery, Rapid City, South Dakota. Ramona is the name of the decorator. The company began in 1958 and is still in business.

      @artfoot, thank you so much! Fascinating, I love Lakota folk lore and the writings of one of their famous shamans Black Elk Speaks was hugely influential in my life.
