Hey guys, My purpose of this is to identify what the little leaf shaped is? Heres the story. So this company I work for up here in maine. Just acquired this big old farm type house, with all the contents inside. Some of the stuff probley has no great value but I knew of the guy growing up, and my parents tell me he was into collecting antiques. Well that bad part about it is he also owned a hardware store when i was younger I am 28 by the way. This hardware store probley closed in the early 00's. Which is cool more for me to dig through. I love the old stuff its great. I love when you can type in the name of the company that was molded in Etc Etc. So please try to help me out, I am new here to this site but soon stuff will be gone through in this building and there is alot of older stuff so if there is a need or a want etc please let me know my email is chris.beeton.88@gmail.com. Thank you

Well of course we would all like to dig around in there!
I wonder if that piece was a door handle base?

I have had a lot of people say that is what, they think it is but all in all I kinda have this feeling its not. I myself have never seen a door handle that isnt like symetrical on both sides like if you look up door handles they all share the same size in portion of the actual handle it self, if you kinda understand what I'm trying to say. I guess your probley not sweating as hard as me. I guess i think it would just look funny up on the kitchen cabinet, wouldn't it have to be mounter up and down? I don't really know but I kinda wish somebody would know.

Second picture. .the bracket on top is to an old wall bracket for a oil lamp. They sell on ebay you can look it up. You screw it in the wall and it had another bracket that slid into it to hold the lamp. And for easy access to move the lamp to light. Or to adjust lighting.

What is the name for them and what is the value if any
    5. Lamplover78 Lamplover78, 8 years ago
Prolly $10.. more if you had the other part to it. . Id look up oil lamp bracket.

I have been looking can't find the same one hmm I'm going to google search them and see if I can find. I got about 20 of them so if I can get 5-7 dollars a peice, then I won't complain

Best bet is ebay.. allot of the time you can find the wall hanging unit but not the part to hang it from. I bet they would sell quick.. if you look deeper in that pile under the bracket you might find the other part. Let us know what you find!

I will most deffently, I'm only 28 years young and I love looking into old history. Everyone I've seen only have 2 holes to screw it to the wall. So kinda funny the ones I have 4 must been for big lamp huh? So your saying the brackets I have are harder to come by. I need to take a closer look I wonder if any makermarks are on them.

It almost looks like a hinge for a swinging door, like in the old west when they would walk into a bar thru the 'swinging doors'. OMG I would love to go in there and open all those boxes. Look for one that's similar but somewhat "upside down". If I'm right the door itself would have had the other part on it but there would be one the same as yours there for the bottom.???

It's hard to see sort of but I do see a lot of greenbacks in there...I feel like Hobo Kelley!!! haha You probably don't know who that is but most people here do...I see desk lamps, floor lamps, shades haha

Possibly or a big fancy one maybe. The older things get things get the harder things are to come by. . It does also look like a hidge but the one style of bracket I'm not thinking it is. Id just list it as Victorian wall bracket.. see what you can get. .

You said he was a hardware store guy. . Maybe they are some kind of hinge. Still look Victorian.

Yea I'm going to look into it and maybe I'll post it. Can I sell items through this or like just on eBay are you guys from the u.s.a cause when the time comes that we start to get rid of stuff either by selling or throwing away. I'd be interested in sharing pics of things you might be looking for. There is everything from dirt to silver possibly gold in this house and that's no joke.

Silver and gold don't stick to a magnet. . Always good to keep one around to see if something is real! Ebay is amazing that's where you will have your best luck!
