It's an elusive colour in Tango glass, & it's taken me a long time to find any examples, despite years of searching - but these four have all come within the last year, & each one shows a different shade of pink.
The squat, three cornered bowl is salmon pink, & measures 4.5 cm tall & around 13.5 cm wide.
The cup is a slightly "cooler" pink, & measures 3.5 cm tall, & 9.5 cm wide, not including the handle.
Pale pink tall crimped vase is white on the inside, & measures 21 cm tall. It was a lucky thrift find for only $2.
Finally, the elegant stem vase is an unusual deep raspberry pink, attributed to Harrach (many thanks to Michelle). It is 20.5 cm tall.
There's just something special about the combination of pink & black that I love...& I hope to find many more examples!
Gorgeous! You are so right about pink Tango being hard to find. I particularly love the cup. The vase with the 'frilly' rim is Welz. I have a pair, also in pink and also a bargain find!!
Thanks so much! I think I've got your pink pair on my loves list...nice to know it's Welz, too.
I have a non - buyers remorse story about pink Tango glass which goes back over 20 years...I spotted a small salmon pink vase with a black rim in an antiques shop, & really liked it, but as I'd already decided to buy something else that day, I passed it up, thinking I'd buy it the next time I stopped by...needless to say, by the next time I visited it was gone. Ironically, most of the other items around it in the display cabinet were still languishing there unbought years later.
At the time, I didn't even know that little vase was rare, or even that it was called Tango glass. It wasn't until much later that I realised what a special item I'd passed up on...& that lost pink Tango vase has haunted me ever since. Maybe one day it will turn up again, but in the meantime, these four beauties are keepng me in the pink!
Pink Czech glass is one of my favorites. Nice assortment.
Great. Is the bowl a Loetz shape? It has that translucence?
I think that the light pink trumpet is Welz but Craig will know. Love them.
I think that the light pink handled bowl could be Welz but it's such a generic shape.
What a great grouping! And there is the pale pink Welz I had mentioned before - they all look so lovely together. Your pinks are just so cheerful - I can't imagine feeling sad when looking at them. :)
Many thanks welzebub & IanBrighton.
The cup was sold as Loetz, but I'm not 100% certain if that's correct.
Many thanks also, Michelle - pink is such a happy colour, isn't it!
I have a pale blue version of the pale pink vase...& there was a mauve version on eBay recently which I bid on but didn't win.
I do have some other Tango glass in orange & various spatters which I will get around to posting soon, as well.
