These coins were found while metal detecting. Not an expert on coins and hope someone can tell me what they are? Thanks in advance. I got these near an abandoned house in Fredericksburg Va. Smell like silver when rubbed
In what area were they found? What does the flip side look like? You can edit your post to add more photos.
On the east coast see other picture
The one with the lettering and owl is Greek. Look up Athenianowlcoins.reidgold.com-it looks similar to the tetradrachm
That's amazing-those appear to be ancient coins.
East Coast of where? You didn't say any location, such as a city/state/Provence/district/country. A better question than What they are is Why they are there, and there no one knows without you providing all useful information.
Do they smell like silver?

I looked at the images under higher magnification. Though I can't say with 100% certainty without a physical examination, I'm about 95% sure these are cast "reproductions". The rim on the left one seems to have a mold line. I also see what appear to be "pearls" on the left coin... air bubbles are trapped as the molds are created, then when poured, the spaces fill with metal creating what appear to be "pearls" on the surface. Also, the cracks don't appear to go all the way through the coin with sharp edges. Take them to a reputable coin dealer, and I suspect they will confirm my theory. Athenian Owls are some of the most copied coins because of their high value to collectors. To find real 2500 year old coins buried in the dirt in VA would be highly unlikely, though I won't go so far as to say impossible.
Looks like a pearl on right coin just behind Athena's head, just above neck.
