1898 Zinn Gem Automatic Razor.

Very rare 1898 Zinn Gem Automatic Razor. This razor comes complete with blades in their original leather pouches. One is wrapped in the original paper. Considering that this razor is 119 years old, the condition is incredible. The leather case is in excellent condition, as is every item within the case. The silk lining is also in excellent condition. I found this at an estate sale. I intended to give it to my Dad, but he declined. He only uses his electric razor. I did some online research and found that this is an extremely rare razor. It is made from German Silver, which is a nickle alloy, resistant to corrosion. If my research is correct, this is one of the first Gillette Razors. It was made by the Gem Cutlery Company. It sits proudly in my china cabinet. I love how it gleams under the lights. It really is a very pretty razor (if it's even possible for a razor to be pretty!)
