I purchased a large lot of vintage & antique jewelry, this piece was the only unidentifiable.
The other pieces that were with this item had names from makers such as Weiss & Vogue, so I do believe this piece is of some Importance, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
The glass stone is large In size, probably the size of a nickel if I were to guess, the colors of the stone are a deep pink with an amethyst purple.
The size of this piece is approximately 2" by 2", the back of this item shows that it can be worn both as a brooch or pendant, the brooch is a solid piece of gold tone metal.
Any help would be great, and I thank everyone for there effort in advance!
Can you please edit and repost more photos? Need to see close up, in focus photos of both sides.
No flash as it distorts. Natural light is best.
Sorry about that, here are some new images, no flash is used.
Thanks that's much better. Rollover clasps and rivet hinges came into use in the early part of the 20th century. Your brooch/pendant can date anywhere up to mid-century. Looks Art Deco in design. It's very pretty. Not possible to ID a maker.
Awesome, thanks very much for the info. Even the littlest is a huge help!
Its beautiful. Congrats!
Just passing through & this caught my eye because in photos it looks so much like one of the stones described here:

Can see by the cut it is not, but it exhibits a similar play of color & I have seen starburst brooches that use them, so wondering whether it is a high quality fashion piece meant to mimic a color change sapphire. Have you looked at it in a variety of lighting types, including incandescent? As the article covers, there is also glass that changes color in a similar way. There appears to have been a major fad for the simulated alexandrites mid-60s to mid-70s. This piece may date to then. :)
