I have no idea the age. .it seems old. I believe it to be a funeral parlor lamp. Since i got it from one. It has the adjustable height so it can span from 3 1/2 feet to 6 feet in height. Really neat standing lamp. I'll take different pictures in the morning when there's more light! Thanks for looking!
The seat for the bulb may hold the most answers, as that's least likely to be replaced. The plug, though, if original often gives the most definitive date.
Not sure where you're getting Funeral Parlor from? We have a much less ornate and this-century version we used in the living room for years; bought new at the store.
There's a funeral parlor across the street. They have gave us 5 lamps. . This was one of them. I'll take better pictures tomorrow.
This is a standard torchiere floor lamp sold by sears in the day and many other stores, not a funeral lamp at all. Have had the floor ashtray stand with the same base, usually in chrome. Right now I have the identical base with the largest 10 inch agate glass insert. I have collected lamps and ashtrays since the late 1970's.
Awesome! Thanks for the input.. i have 3 standing ashtrays I'll have to post later. I do have a old wooden box that lamps like these could fold down and fit into. They are dated 1945... wasn't sure if this was the lamp that went into that box.
The box i have does not fit this lamp. But i did take some more pictures of it. It also has ceramic where you put the bulb. I don't know if that has any indication of age.
