This was one of, if not the, first Kralik mother of pearl rose bowl I ever bought. I've not posted it because it's not the usual pearly white of most examples, though it does have it's own charm. It looks to be a deep cream with a golden glow. Image four is the best representation of its colour.
In images two and three you can see pink iridescence as well. I totally failed with the green! Image four shows it with a more usually coloured one in the same quilted décor for comparison.
Both are very glossy and the camera picks up their iridescence even when I'm not trying.
Diameter 15 cm./6 inches
Thank you for the love aura, this time and on many other occasions :)
The soft drapery is so lovely; the iridescence amazing. It loses something against the whiter piece because of it's yellowness, although I know why you put them together for the photo.
On it's own it looks warm and beautiful.
It's an odd one Karen. I do wonder if it's possible to 'overdo' iridescence!
your collection is amazing!
Thank you very much, fleafinder. Your comment is greatly appreciated :)
If you clicked 'Love it', thank you!
I clicked and loved it!! :)
lol.....so you did, SEAN :)
I love this one Peggy... it has that beautiful textured surface with all those little squares (I don't know what they're called), a beautiful iridescence, that delicious cream color - which I prefer over the white - and those swags. Great Piece!
Thank you Rick, for your lovely comment!
The texture of little squares is often called 'quilted'......just as other Kralik textures have acquired names down the years.
