Hello CW friends and fellow collectors!!
This would be another unusual post for me. But, here is my vintage English dressage saddle. It was manufactured by KOPF in England. Not truly sure of the age of this saddle, but it is still in really nice condition, with the exception of one broken girth strap on the left side. It has solid nickle irons that are in wonderful condition (rubber inserts are a bit dry rotted). I've been told that this could be dated anywhere between the 1930's to the early 1960's.
I have not found any information on KOPF except for a copy of a letter from the company dated 1928 and a KOPF catalog dated 1964. Other than that, I've found no further information on the KOPF company. I have cleaned the saddle with glycerin saddle soap and keep it conditioned with Frye mink oil paste.
I keep this on display in my home along with my vintage riding boots, vintage Tress & Co. riding caps, vintage hunting horns, a couple of English made top hats and cases and vintage heralding horn collection.
I hope you like my display and thank you all for stopping in for a look!!

So neat how you have arranged enerything Scott one item compliments the other so natural. Great write up!!!
What an awesome display of excellent examples!!! It looks like it should be in a show case and you are doing a great job of upkeep! It's perfect!
That is quite the fine display. You are all set for a fox hunt.
Hi Scott,
PeeJay is settling in really well and being more and more relaxed with us each day.... thanks for asking, that is really kind of you!
When are you getting your new little one?

fortapache,
Thanks friend!! Yep, I'm all set for sure.
Judy,
So glad to hear that PeeJay is settling in well with you and your family! You did a wonderful deed by saving her from being euthanized. We're getting our longhair miniature Dachshund this morning. We ended up getting a 12 week old female named "Erica". She's being delivered this morning by a pet courier.

Scott, thank you!
Oh, your Erica is going to be just beautiful.....enjoy your new puppy!!
Thanks Judy!! She's a black and tan long hair miniature dachshund. We actually have changed her name to Carly. Something easier for her to catch onto:)
SEAN,
Thanks for the love and for stopping by!!! Many thanks to you!!
That's great Scott......Carly is nice!
I am not overly fond of the name PeeJay, but as she has been called this for years and does respond to it decided best to let it be! I will no doubt get used to it lol!!
Judy,
She's caught on to her name already. She just still doesn't understand the word "No" yet:) I hope that word catches on soon. She's chewing in everything in sight:)
T-man,
Thanks very much for the love and for stopping by. Glad you like how I'm making use of my English wicker trunk!
Scott,
Oh my! .....I am sure you and your wife will do a great job at training Carly and she will pick up on "No" really quickly!!!
I have to say I don't think I would have the patience for puppy training.......I was amazed this morning getting PeeJay to "stay" on her bed and not follow me through the house, she is like my shadow ......our house is so small I am
frightened of both of us getting hurt if I trip and fall on her. I'm beginning to think she is playing possum with us and knows more than she is letting on!
Pat you little Carly for me!
Judy,
We've been thru puppy training a few times before and it can get frustrating, but then you look at those little Dachshund eyes and end up giving in to them. It's tough when they're tugging on your heart strings constantly:)
Thanks everyone so very much for the loves and for stopping by
