I found an envelope from Star Pictures in Hollywood, CA from 1955 in the attic. It had dozens of these pages with all the actors from 1956. Is this from the studios or any idea what type of company star pictures was? There are a total of 25 pages with 16 pictures on each page. Any info is appreciated.

How interesting! Star Pictures doesn't exist anymore and I couldn't find anything on the web. Those are individual studio promo photos. The only thing I can think of is that the photos are perhaps from some type of long ago movie star fan club. Grasping at straws here, lol!

Efesgirl is on the right track for sure, they can possibly be Hollywood Star Press Photos. Might be good to put the sheets in acid free magazine plastic bags with a cardboard backing board to minimize them getting scratches one page per bag. They would look great framed by the sheets.

I searched for hours on the company Star Pictures but nothing. Of course if they closed in the late 50s or early 60s that is way before the digital internet age. The pictures are great and of every actor and actress working in hollywood at that time. Not from one studio but every. And professionally done. And I can't find a set remotely like them on the web.

There are similar single photos listed online. What is so good about yours is that they are on their original sheets and not cut into individual pieces. Probably why you haven't found and sheets online.

      roddyq,

I think you are right. If you search say by Betty Davis you can find the pic but not the sheet, which is still odd considering I assume they were produced in mass. I wonder if they are the persons official head shot from the studios. Anyway, thanks for posting.
