Beautiful bowl. Cherries and cherry blossom motif. 9 1/2", 2 1/2" deep. Marked D. T. or P. T. Bavaria. Bavarian China, Hand Painted. Has the number 2367 and what appear to be initials, JS?
I know little about old china, am I correct in the assumption that this bowl would have belonged to a set and isn't a one off? Would that be true for most single pieces of old china you come across? Anyone know anything about this piece or the mark?
The stamp is for Hutschenreuther Bavaria and this possibly dates around 1900.
Their ceramics were handpainted and often sold as single items for display, particularly a beautiful bowl like this.
They did make dinner sets but they would have been very expensive and therefore relatively rare. My feeling is this would have been sold singly as a sideboard bowl.
Thank you so much for the info! Any idea what the number represents? Would the initials be of the person who painted it?
racer4four. After doing some reading on Hutschenreuther I'm not finding the mark on this bowl listed among all the various marks for Hutschenreuther. Can you share a source or tell me how you came to the conclusion it's Hutschenreuther?
I'm so sorry, should be Tirschenreuth. Back stamps here should give date estimation:

Thanks for the correction racer.
racer4four. I asked Replacements to do a search for this pattern and they came up empty. Would that basically confirm your opinion that this bowl is indeed a one off piece?
