I bought this chair years ago from another individual, with no information on its origins or style. Upholstery has since failed; I am going to have it repaired or reupholstered. Its size seems unusual; a bit on the small side, though it will certainly hold an adult. The back at peak is 29.5 inches high; seating surface is 15.5 inches off ground; and 22 inches between wood portion of arms. Wood is fine/tight grain and very hard. Stuffing is straw with some cotton batting. Appears to be dowel construction.

I would greatly appreciate any input on style and age. I assume it would be categorized as a tub chair, but despite research see nothing similar to determine a specific style/origin.

I would think between 1950 to 1960, nice but minimally carved, beautiful ! Has the look of a french provincial piece. A lot of the better furniture companies made pieces similar at the time such as Baker and I have one of their catalogue books. Its a beauty !~

Thank you PhilDMorris! I appreciate the info; I had no idea of origins.
