Another doll from my collection is this rare 19 inches tall Bonnie Toddler by Madam Alexander. She was made only between the years 1954 to 1955.
She is mentioned in Patricia Smiths book first published in 1978 page 115, Madam Alexander Collectors Dolls. She is jointed at the head and shoulders with a hard stuffed vinyl body. She has strawberry coloured saran hair, blue sleep eyes with hand painted feathered eyebrows, lips and cheeks.
She is wearing her original factory made petticoat, dress and bonnet. Her petticoat is tagged 'Alexander' in red although it has faded.

Thanks Manikin:) Yes, they were quite expensive $18.50 in 1954 was a lot to pay for a doll.
The reason they were so expensive was that apart from their overall quality that Madam Alexander were known for was also because the dolls were produced with new and costly innovative technology. Madam Alexander was one of the first (if not the first) to introduce vinyl dolls made with blow mold injection technology. This is part of the reason as to why this was an expensive doll.
