    Hello everyone.

Just a little show and tell bought at the local market last Sunday.
Costume piece, but I thought it was one of the prettier ones of these TLM portrait brooches.
Gilt metal with a print which looks like it has some hand colouring as well.
The green enamel border of the brooch is really lovely, and overall the condition of this piece is really nice.
I do believe that copies of some of Thomas Gainsborough's works were used in these brooches, and that is why I have put up the Gainsborough picture of "The Hon. Mrs Graham" 1777.
I do think this is who is in my brooch.......
Marked TLM (for Thomas L Mott) Made in England on the back and measures 5cm x 4cm.

Hope you like seeing this brooch, I think it is really pretty! Thanks Judy

Wow!!! Amazing you made the connection. I think these small portraits are beautiful. Is this painted on ivory like the other ones I have seen on CW? These are fascinating.

Hello Vintageart, no not that good to be painted on ivory, just costume jewellery with a transfer print on it.....I really love it anyway and maybe one day I might find an ivory one:-)
Thanks very much for your comment and love:-)
