I hung the ring on the wing tip of my angel & kids figurine (THAT is NOT my hand! )and I was able to get a good shot-- Can someone identify the stone ,and like Roddyq I too have never known what this is made of, but it looks primitive . I believe it is Native-American tho--my best guess. I have had it 38 years, it is darkening. Has always had the lines of striae in it. Thanks.
Native-American?
No, not Native American. The stone is Malachite, and the ring looks like Ivory.
OH! GREAT! Thanks again Efesgirl!!Yes, I do now realize that it is ivory. I needed my memory jogged.
You're welcome!
Hi Lois, your ring is very nice indeed. Looking at it's composition it looks like as Efesgirl said to be made of ivory as I was checking out different types of material used in traditional carvings yours looks much like ivory. Such an awesome treasure. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Roddy--I love your ring! Really unique... Thanks for stopping by so we can compare notes! Loia
Thank you Lois. I have always loved it also, it has been with me for many years. Your ring is easy to love.
