This signed vase was designed by Karl Bengt Eugén Edenfalk. Sadly the glass world lost this excellent designer last year. It was made by Kosta Boda between 1978 & 1989 when he worked there. It stands over 12" tall and is about 4" in diameter. The shape is simple and modern The glass is a heavy clear crystal. The walls of the vase are quite thick to accommodate the optical lens effect that is molded into the glass, and which produces a delightful distortion effect. The lenses also throw interesting highlights and shadows. It is signed on the base "KOSTA 48627 EDENFALK". A nice example of contemporary Swedish art glass. It also still bears the original Kosta Boda sticker.

Thanks Nicefice... now they are all merged with a bunch of other companies... so much is changing!
Appreciated Sean!
Amazing! It's so reflective and you did a good job photographing it. That in itself can be a chore!
I really enjoy optical glass and this is a great piece. Edenfalk did a great design here and your photos display it wonderfully Bob.
Thanks shareurpassion... clear glass is the most difficult to photograph I think.
Kind of you to say Karen! Cheers!

That's really beautiful! And a 1986 design, if the info I have on the numbering system is correct. : )
Yep swfinluv1... 1986 was how I was reading the code too! Thanks for the good vibes! Cheers! - Bob
