I was told this is from around the 1920's. I have been trying to figure out who this Statue is of and what type of Material other than "just stone" what type?? it's made of. The stone is pinkish in color.?The statue itself is around 15-inches tall. Apparently felt was applied to the bottom to keep from scratching the surface. Any help identifying this would be greatly appreciated !!

The material is most likely a type of soapstone called pyrophyllite. Various mineral compositions give various colors that probably minerologically and regionally have various names.
