Hello CW friends!!!
To cap off my Vintage English riding collection, we have my vintage English riding crop. It's a fairly fancy riding crop. There's a lot of braided leather on the handle and lots of fancy details all over. Not sure of the exact age, but placed somewhere in the early part of the 1900's.
Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!!
Scott
You are all set now and quite stylish.
fortapache,
Thanks very much!! I do totally agree.
Kurt,
Thanks! It is one of the fanciest riding crops I've seen. Though I have seen a couple with 14K gold on the handles that were fancier!
Thanks everyone for the loves and for stopping by

very unique scott!!what were riding crops for?
tally ho ..just dashing, I say old chap.........'-)
fleafinder,
Thanks! Riding crops are still used today and have been for centuries. Unlike a whip, a riding crop is used to tap the horse in order to have it move forward. Not to be used as a whip, but simply in conjunction with voice commands to the horse. I'm not one of those that believes in using a crop, on any of our horses, forcefully.
Thanks Gary!!!!!
Lovely crop and excellent info on its use. Glad to hear that you ride considering your collection. Tally ho x
