Things have been a bit quite on the thrifting front, but I was lucky to find this wonderful paining at Salvation Army this week. I love the colors and textures used to create this seascape of the Amalfi coast in Italy. Painted on a panel and nicely framed it was more than likely a tourist piece from the late 70's to mid 80's. There are a few Silvani's in the art directories but without the first name it's impossible to attribute. I did however find a very similar painting by this artist in an online auction from last year and it was appraised for two to five hundred dollars. So it was a good buy at twenty-five dollars although I thought the price was a bit steep by thrift store standards. The gallery, Ackerson's it was sold from is no longer in business and fit's the time frame that this was probably painted. A nice find after a prolonged dry spell. -Mike-

Thanks so much Roy and Scott . :)
I just bought one with the same signature. Coastal Landscape 8"x10" for $1.88. I'm still looking to find more about the artist. Yours is a great painting and a great find!
This might help! I see sold items here on this site. Early 20th Century or Circa 1929. References on one stated SLL Savani. I'm fairly new here so sorry if I stated the obvious.
