Green depression glass serving tray, 9 1/2". Looking for information about this tray. In my opinion this is an Art Deco style. The center would suggest it would have had a center bowl of some type as a companion piece, a cheese and cracker set perhaps? Anyone know anything about it?
Fostoria #2419 Mayfair pattern; this is named a handled cake plate in their 1936 catalog
Once again, thank you TallCakes, you've been most helpful!
you're very welcome. BTW, altho' this glass was made during the depression era it is know as 'Elegant Glass' as most of it was hand finished.
Thank you, I'm learning so much! From some reading I was under the apparently false impression that to be considered as "Elegant Glass" a piece had to have etching or some other detail.
many of these do have various etches or other décor, but generally speaking the blanks (as here) without any décor are also accepted as Elegant Glass.
Very nice tray Rick, I love the Deco(?) style!
Thanks Rick...:)
