The body of this vase is of white stripes cased between two amber layers. The frill and feet are peachy pink. The fine crimping of the frill makes it catch the light and sparkle.

Image four shows it with two other Welz pices in the same décor.

    Height 24.5 cm./9.5 inches

When I'm looking at some Welz's pieces like this one - full of frills, funny feet and other ornaments -one word springs to my lips (in Polish) "frywolny".It means "frivolous, saucy".I think there's a lot of female element in these pieces - just thoughts in the morning :-)

I quite agree with you, Ivonne. Do you think this was perhaps an early example of targeting your market? Create vases appealing to the feminine psyche as it's women who buy vases. Just another thought......

You know,I don't think our market was a target for Bohemian glass at all.In comparison to the west Europe ,USA and other west markets there're traces of Bohemian glass here.
I agree with your opinion about women buying such staff and it must have reflected their fashion and lifestyle generally.

For all that Ivonne, and it must be irritating, you have still managed to show some beautiful Czech glass here on CW!
