Was wondering when I'd ever pick up one of these as a friend picked one up in poor condition a few months back.
Good fortune came my way at a clear out recently where I had an exclusive 'pick' and according to the expert on the subject at australianmilitaryknives.com this one is in great condition. More can be read about William Thomas Whittingslowe at this site
Whittingslowe Engineering of Adelaide produced a range of edged knives and supplied the Defence Department during WW2 hence the D^D marking under 'Whittingslowe Adelaide' on the blade which is 19" long(2' 1" overall)
It had the original canvas scabbard though in not so good condition and have not included a photo as can only upload four
Great item. You can always make a second post if you need to post more photos. I do that myself.
Why didn't I think of that? :-/
im looking for an original scabbard for one if anyone knows
Why not look on the Australian eBay site for a scabbard? That would be the most logical place to find one.
