Enlarge and see what looks like to me, something the woman preferred to hide in her collar? If it was a controversial Christian Cross in a country where Christians were persecuted is she telling us "I am a Christian but dare not show it?" ( Like Russia, or another country? But Telling us to recognize THAT clue??) It also looks like a "dog Tag"-- or a refugee I.D.. The chain looks to short to just pull over if she forgot to remove before the photo... Something is definitely hidden--maybe a Jewish Star or a Mezuzah ? ANY Opinions about this photo of the sweet woman in a lovely dress? It is a CDV but I am guessing 1900 or thereabout from a country I cannot discern, See photo 2. Thanks. Please enlarge both photos #2 for location at bottom

She is Czech or Slovak. The name of the place ( Vinohrady ) is common in both languages.

That would be diierent... Poked into her collar! Maybe a fashion statement in eastern Europe back in the day? Sort of having a knife in your garter, poison in your ring,a joint in your sock, money in your bra...Things out of place on ones person

But wow!***A pocket watch in your collar? Cool! HaHa

I'm leaning towards pocket watch also, the chain appears to be FOB chain

Hi Fleafinder!!I once lost $50. out of my bra at the supermarket. My husband had just given it to me to go shop for food. I was so upset. My mom was with me and paid for the groceries and my husband never found out! I would NEVER heard the end of it!! Never!
